Benjamin Johnson

Benjamin Johnson is an American graphic designer born 1981 in Providence, Rhode Island. He is a graduate of The New England Institute of Technology’s graphic, multimedia, and web design associate program. Ben’s love of art began at a young age when he showed an aptitude for drawing. This passion was encouraged by his grandfather, who was a painter who was the owner of a small gallery in Ipswich Mass. As time went on, Ben’s love of art never diminished, and he would try to replicate things that he thought were interesting. He found that time very peaceful and therapeutic. However, it never seemed like there was enough of it.

Like many people, as time goes on, he was forced to put his passions on hold while in pursuit of a career. Over the years he has worn many hats, including: a bartender, server, electrician, retail associate, sailor in the United States Navy, a fabricator, builder of submarines, and even a vacuum salesperson. Although some of these careers were full-filling and proved to be lucrative, he was still trying to make time to do what he loved: create art.

As “luck” would have it, he sustained an injury while at work one day which left him incapacitated for 5 months. During this time he was able to get back to what he enjoys most, and decided it was time to pursue a career in the visual communication arts.
